autism is a wide variety of conditions. meeru cheppe auditory issue is very common, most have co-morbid conditions in addition like visual, tactile, proprioceptive etc. its not that he cannot hear, but he cannot process may be because he vestibular system is broken. we have 7 senses not just 5, other 2 being proprioceptive and vestibular too, in these kids these sysyems are also impaired. so best is meet a DAN or a MAPS asap. these are normal in kids diagnosed with autism, so that makes it even more imperative to go to a holistic special needs DAN doctor | ||

kid is 4 years old ...she is asking help because she wants to know how a kid can progress with speech wearing hear aids... They visited the doctor and she is not happy with their responses on progress.. his loss is at 65 decibels moderate to severe...they do ABA therapy 5 days a week at home and some speech at school as well.. | ||

I heard of a case where the development was slow.. turned out because of ear infections hearing was low.. once they installed tubes.. kid started hearing better and responding better - subsequently things started improving | ||
