first surrender certificate ki apply cheyyali.. meaning you will need to send your Indian passport and they will cut a piece at the corner.. that makes your indian passport invalid.. you will get back a certificate (surrender) and the indian passport. Then you have to apply for OCI which normally takes around 6-8 weeks.. after you apply for OCI, you have to check the status online until it shows it is processed at is available at London. Then you have to submit your UK passport which you will get both UK passport & OCI in 7 days.. | ||

Ee torture process...us lo kooda rules change from consulate to consulate...in some renunciation and oci can be done together...in some cannot....in some you need to send a copy of the passport with the application..in some it will be sent in 2nd step. So, evvari consulate CURRENT rules vallu chadavandi. | ||
