but I can still tell you what you can do

High level like:
1. Itinerary by day
2. Places you stayed (hotel)
3. Local transport
4. Any other tips, dos/dont's
5. Any online links which can help in planning the trip

I know it's 10 years old but still be very helpful.

Vatican by self versus guided tour - which is better

history interest ante guided tour...else freega meere atu itu thiragandi...don't miss to go on top of vatican...super view...I think you need to buy a 5 EUR ticket standing in a queue...but worth...oka 1000 steps andvery exciting view

Anand_n:

Also same questions for Pisa from Florence - not planning to rent a car unless there is a benefit

worst part of my Italy trip...Pisa...paisal dhandaga place...tigada huva khamba...nothing else...better you plan for Venice....most memorable place..

In general Rome by walk, super untaadhi....

We went by train. And bus/cab locally. It was a good experience.
But the tower itself wasn't all that impressive.

Vatican by self versus guided tour - which is better Same question for other sites in Rome

Guided tours lo disadvantages:
Limited time at each site. If you want perfect shots/pictures, it will not work.
Guide language with accent ardam avutundo ledo cheppalem.
But audio guides untayi for renting. That should be plenty.

Advantages:
Guides Full details istaru. History buffs baga enjoy chestaru.
Rome is not too big to walk around and find places. Just download offline maps on your phone before heading there.

North/mid italy lo must see, Rome, Pisa, florence, Tuscany area (this itself 7 days you can spend), Milan, Venice, lake como

South lo - Naples is ok, Isle of Capri (if you got to do just 1 place in italy, this is the one), Matera, Sardina, Alberobello, Bari, Sicily

2 days Venice, 2 in Florence, 2 Rome , 3 Sorrento to relax on Amalfi coast , quick hop in santorini and couple days in Athens

Amalfi is beautiful.

Rome - 2 days is woefully short but whatever you can see will all be worth it. dont miss the drinking water from the street faucets. built in the BC era and still functioning. also saves money.

florence to pisa is a drive worth doing. We drove and got a chance to see some midieval GOT type castles enroute. also the Italian country side is nice.

venice is hyped. dont get duped by the glass sellers there. otherwise ok place. I would rather spend an extra day in Rome.

Thanks .. Definitely understand that all of Italy has a lot to offer ...but this trip only planning to hit the highlights - ambience in Venice , history in Rome, art galleries in Florence , history in Pompeii , nature in Sorrento, santorini , history in Athens ... that’s the idea

Itinerary is already planned out and bookings done ... 2 days Venice, 2 in Florence, 2 Rome , 3 Sorrento to relax on Amalfi coast , quick hop in santorini and couple days in Athens:-)

2 days not enough for rome. especially if you are an art lover. Vatican self is alright. don't need guides per se.

depending on your timing, lines can get quite long.

how many days in total for the trip? can suggest an itinerary ..

Are skip the line tickets worth it ?

Also same questions for Pisa from Florence - not planning to rent a car unless there is a benefit

Recommendations please !

Must do sites in Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples (proper) too :-)
