Good one. This is my verdict on casting couch. Looks like casting couch is very prevalent in Jr. Artiste level. And since the industry is not an organized industry like others, the Government is responsible for this. 1. The cinematography misnitry should enter details of all the artistes and provide a ID card. It could be an App similar to Janasena Membership App.. could be done in few minutes. No need for bribes or anything. 2. There should be law similar to western movie industries that Movie auditions in Hotels, personal residences should be banned and illegal. Auditions can only happen between 9am to 5pm in studios. 2 b. Studios which took land from government for cheaper rate should provide a provision/building or space to conduct these auditions. 3. Minutes of the auditions and list of candidates (using govt provided id) interviewed should be recorded and stored for atleast 90 days. 4. Govt should declare minimum wages for Jr Artistes. 5. All payments should be digital, no cash payments. 6. All studios and production houses should assign 1 person to record sexual harrasement complaints... and if action taken was not acceptable by victims, they can report to nearest PS within 90 days of their auditions. | ||
