story concept is too good. Attempting this kind of movie need to be applauded Before I go any further , this is just my point of view. Director may have had a different POV but naku ila ardhamaindhi.. We gave away too many spoilers already. The movie loses its appeal, if you know. It ruined for me because I accidentally read a spoiler. From that point rather than watching what director was trying to say my brain kept saying how it should be said!!! If anyone managed to remain spoiler free , stop here. Kajal character is pretty complicated with a problem. There are several characters with different personalities interacting over the course of movies. Nithya character and that sequence presentation was awesome. By the end of that 20 mins , my expectations went sky high. Srinivas character was very intriguing. I really liked this and other shade of his character. It is confusing but is inline with what is happening in the movie. Priyadarshi character sequence was very well done. But I did not understand relevance of this personality. This movie will only work if all the personalities have a correlation. I did not understand this personalities connection. May be I missed some thing Another such characters is the kid and her mother. Did not understand their connection to the main character. The magician character was total disconnect. Nothing in main character’s introduction has connection to narcissism. Where is this hidden or are we supposed to make assumption Regina character was awesome. The genre he picked to show it was distracting but that character had me engaged just about the time I was losing interest. I thought there was tremendous improvement he could have done on that character rather than focusing on style and thrills!! Also using different kinds of genres for explaining different stories naku appeal avvaledhu. Already confusing plot lo inko unnecessary complication anipinchindhi. The genre he used to show magician and kid koncham bore kottindhi.. it has 'Dr. Seuss' stories feel to it which seemed out of place for this kind of movie. Finally, there is a reality and there is another reality. The characters are not supposed to say what is what. We are supposed to experience it . Take split for example. It reveals everything in the first shot itself but the real reveal happens in the last minute. That is masterstroke!! Awe has scene to scene brilliance. The characters are well designed .. for most part it kept us thinking and guessing .. but it did not create magic experience .. came very close. I also wished subplot was thriller rather than social drama. That could have kept it crisp and more engaging. Generally, ilanti movies second and third watch lo we pick up lot of things we missed first time. If time permits( and if the movie still in theaters  ), I will watch this one more time. | ||

Monday morning quarterback!! The length of the movie should be cut. These click only if they keep you engaged!! Koncham lapse vundhi ... overall , I was satisfied . It's plot and subplot . Both matter!! I generally like these kind of movies ..when things are getting revealed towards the end, the music and shots are too distracting. That's when silence is mostly needed.. | ||

Regina ( girl ) and her Goth boyfriend ( boy ) Regina is fighting with her own demons every day, she sees ghosts etc., Regina ( kajal ) drug addict due to her troubled past , and her sober boyfiend ( another Kajal ) wanted to take that duffel bag from investor, Kajal committed this crime in her life. Looks like it hit the nerve with lesb and non veg stuff with some of the dbers. It is about that person's struggle in life and how her alters coped with each of those struggles. Then there are also voices in her head. It is a unique movie for our Telugu audience. By putting it down to a dream only, we will be doing a big disservice to the movie. Towards the end, in one scene they show Kajal dressed like Regina. That should tell you that it is a real alter for Kajal. How she plays in her mind is probably a reflection of that alter in real life. | ||

I understood the problem. Somewhere during the movie you got intimidated and convinced yourself that this is a masterpiece. Then you started coming up with your own explanationa for little things which dont mean anything. The writer simply did not have clarity. He cannot encourage killing a lamb and show compassion when killing a fish. Also, there is no hindu scripture that says being gay is sin. Its a sin for Christians. He mapped i directly to hindus. -- Spoiler alert -- Watched Awe movie today @ Forum mall. As far as the movie goes, very unique concept never ever on Indian screen. My interpretation of various characters in the movie: 1. Nitya and Eesha - exploitation and abuse that a girl faces as a child and how that can affect her for a life time including her gender orientation. 2. Regina - how loneliness makes see hallucinations, resort to substance abuse or life of crime fcuking up their mind. 3. Murali Sharma - when loneliness becomes part of you, you cannot accept anyone else's greatness and develop narcissistic tendencies. 4. Darshi - schizophrenic tendencies. 5. Avasarala - how you make futile attempts to change something thats not in your control and live in an imaginative world. 6. Baby Girl - mother (owner of the restaurant) leaving a small girl all by herself and concentrating on business deals. 7. Kajal - all of the above... Psychological thriller with a very unique plot point. Will be liked and appreciated by a very niche set of audience. Movie out of academic interest choodachu kaani common audience ki kasthame. Cinematography was top class; great job by Karthik Ghattamaneni. BGM was good too. If this movie becomes a BO hit then Nani sudda lo gudi ki anni etti pettali dannam. |
