Spending wise, just house price okkate count cheyyakandi...In addition to house price, u will have to spend again on Closing costs, Furniture, Appliances..etc (which will not come back if you have to sell the house again and move back to India)...Usual gaa this additional cost varies from 15k-40k based on the value of your house....Example, 400k house aithe closing cost will be around 10k, furniture entha kaadhanukunna oka 5-10k, appliances like TV, Washer, Dryer, Stove 2-3k...

suddengaa illu ammalsi vasthe same price ki amminaa atleast oka 20k loss vasthundi, bcos agent commission itself will be 6% of the house value...400k house, meeru 400k ki ammina oka 24k agent ki kattaali, best case vaadu commission 3% theesukunnaa oka 12k...plus nenu cheppina paina expenditure...so overall gaa oka 40k minimum gamble untundi...so ee money meeru gambling ki ready ante digandi...

Depends... i got pre-approval based on my credit score and salary range... i got it multiple times without credit check...

Mortgage lenders ni approach aithe they will give with in 2-3 business hrs rather than applying online...

Prequalification letter should be good enough for seeing homes. Preapproval letter requires credit check and will show-up as hard enquiry on your credit report. Unless you are 90% sure of buying, don't get the pre-approval.

Once you are sure, get pre approvals from multiple lenders within 30 days, so that it will show up as one single credit inquiry.

Not true - it may be mandatory for putting the offers, but not for visiting.

I went through goldenkey.com and received 3% commision back this January when I closed my house.

Don'ts:
1. Skipping home inspections.

2. Not getting Mortgage quotes from multiple lenders.

3. Not negotiating, showing extreme interest confront of agents as they'll use it to their advantage in closing the home to get their commission.

4. Assuming that realtor works for you...they work for commission and wants to get the deal closed ASAP

5. Going with realtor suggested lenders, inspection agents etc.

6. Not considering good school zone, quick resale-ability incase to sell.

7. Not realizing that we won't get everything we dream within our budget. Have to make sacrifices.

8. Not estimating final costs...HOA, POA, Insurance, Taxes etc.

9. Not reading the following article...
