From next financial year, standard deduction itself is 24k. My mortgage interest + property tax will be less than 24K for sure. I have don't have any other item to add to deductions if I itemize. So from next year I'll go with standard deductions. Prepay chestey we can use that additional amount as property tax paid for 2017. | ||

I am pre-paying as I can't use itemized deductions next year. Just doesn't work for my case. Over property taxes are over 10K. Twice that to get 20K and add interest paid another 7K, takes to total over 27K. Thus... Itemization will work for this year. This ... Not counting charitable donations. | ||
