>>8. people skills

The discussion is around future technologies :-) People skills, no doubt, are important but it would be great to hear your views about the technologies listed there.

>>from 3 to 7 is just implementation of above

Agree that everything can be viewed as a fallout of AI and QC. But these are tracked separately by the industry today so that there is a sustained focus on these line items. Andhuke listed them separately.

>>i give it a 1, its been always there, just rebranded. i did a project 10 yrs ago which you can call based IOT

Yes, but we have more processing power and more refined technologies now. Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence can complement the IOT system and create better value. That's why there is this renowned interest in the technology.

>>we will cross river before this tech catches up .. Its for next gen

I disagree here. Some of these are already in place. Robo advisors and chat bots for instance. IOT is a well established use case. AR will be mainstream (thanks to iOS AR Kit) in the next couple of years. VR is already in the fourth state of the hype curve. Big data - already in place and churning insights everywhere. Blockchain - will be mainstream in 2019/20. Security of course has always been a challenge and will remain so in the post quantum era.

My view - 3 to 5 years for most of these and not more than 10 years for all of them.

Your views please...

Which of the following future technologies or trends do you find most interesting? Provide your answer on a scale from 1 (not very interested) to 6 (very interested or plays a core role in my work).

1. Quantum and biological computers
2. Artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning
3. Robo-advisory and chatbots
4. Web 3.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT)
5. Augmented reality and virtual reality
6. Big data and the analytics thereof
7. Security and blockchain

Have any of these technologies or trends begun to impact your professional context?

How do you think these technologies and trends may impact financial services in the future?

Do you have any speculations about the distant future of financial services?

Are there any other speculative technologies that you find particularly interesting?

:-)
