Date is not everything: In 2017, we saw three movies that released in a span of a week – Khaidi150, Gautamiputra and Sathamanam Bhavati – all becoming biggest hits in their career for the stars. So if a pongal season could accommodate all the three movies, summer season also could accomodate 3 movies, or for that matter, even more movies. Then what is the problem? First, the problem is – each of these producers want to grab solely entire holiday advantage. Each of them want to earn nothing less than the maximum potential of their movies. Greediness, isn’t it ? Bunny Vasu took to Facebook to comment that he respects decisions of 2.0 makers but changing of release dates in such hasty manner is affecting other regional movies including Na Peru Surya and Bharat Anu Nenu. He asked and requested Producers Council and Trade Bodies to intervene and find an amicable solution. Similarly, DVV Danayya's official twitter handle, DVV Ent has tweeted that they are upset with 2.0 changing their decision and pushing April 2018 releases into confusion. They too requested trade bodies to come up with an amicable solution. Though UV Creations is releasing the film Gang, we hear that Geetha Arts is the unofficial distribution partner. Needless to say, they are locking horns with Pawan's Agnathavasi and Balayya's Jaisimha. When there is no issue with GA and their friends are pitching Gang against Telugu films, why are they crying foul now for Robo 2? Had Robo 2 been bought by Allu Arvind, would Bunny Vasu take the same stand then? Cut to DVV Danayya, even after knowing that Naa Peru Surya is hitting cinemas on April 27th, this producer locked the same date for Mahesh's Bharat Anu Nenu after missing out Sankranthi date due to a delayed shooting. Doesn't DVV assume the pain of NPS distributors when he pitched BAN against it? Why these special cries now? In the first place, if films have content and also hype through promotions, definitely all of them will work. We have already seen 2017 Sankranthi creating a storm at the box office with Khaidi No 150, Gauthamiputra Satakarni and Satamanam Bhavati raking best figures. So, why worry about Robo 2 aka 2 Point O now? Anyway, with much of theatres in Allu Arvind, Dil Raju and Suresh Babu's hand, no doubt, 2 Point O will not be getting as many theatres as Naa Peru Surya and Bharat Anu Nenu. Danayya’s foul cry now: Seems this annoyed Danayya, producer of BAN and he tweeted from the official twitter handler as: “Tollywood has always respected and embraced other language cinema. But a bigger project like Robo 2.0 changing their release dates has caused confusion among producers. All the Telugu movie producers who are releasing in the months of Apr and May are in discussions to avoid any competition among ourselves. However this sudden announcement by ROBO 2 team to release in the month of April has left all the Telugu releases to further confusion. At this juncture we request the trade bodies to take a conscious call and arrive at an amicable solution“. Danayya’s foul cry on 2.0 and bring out the “regional card” to provoke Telugu audience and to develop sort of antipathy towards Tamil dubbed 2.0 is understandable. But he is the one to answer how he did similar act , similar injustice to Bunny’s NPS movie. May be he thought Koratala is a bigger director compared to debutant Vamsi and so his product might be a better one and so he dared to clash with NPS. He did not bother at that time as he had upperhand. But now with announcement of Shankar’s magnum opus, Danayya is not in a mood to gamble by clashing his movie with such highly anticipated 2.0 movie. Probably now he may understand the pain that NPS makers have gone through. Also, funniest thing here is , he called for trade bodies to intervene to get an amicable solution.
