Talked to ICICI Bank NRI customer service.. 1. NRI's will not get Aadhar card unless they are resident. 2. NRI's cannot have resident savings account. 3. If anyone has the savings account, one has to login to account online and create a service request to convert it to NRO account. 4. Once the request is created, they will ask to upload few documents like passport copy, residence proof like D/L. These needs to be self attested and uploaded. 5. Then the bank account will be converted to NRO within 10 business days and then an NRE account also will be created. 6. Any loans that are linked to savings account will automatically linked to NRO account.. Please go ahead and do this if you have an Resident savings account. If you dont have then need not worry about Aadhar card as NRE/NRO accounts are not impacted. #Mahaanubhavudu Audio review | ||

Most NRIs are not eligible to apply for aadhar cards according to 2016 Aadhar act. Hence it will not be a requirement for NRIs/OCIs/PIOs | ||
