Bit long.. just copy and paste from my travel blog.. we traveled a bit in the Caribbean and Central America.. here is our Cancun experience, stayed for over 8 days and 7 night (a bit extended but we place out all of trips similar to this one) April 9th Sunday - Landed in Cancun Mexico at 4:30 AM. We started smelling the warm weather from the flight itself. - We were the last people to exit the aircraft. - Filled all the documentation needed for Mexico Visa. The overall Visa process took us about 10 minutes on the whole. - Picked up the luggage and exited the airport. - It took another 30 minutes to reach Moon Palace Nizuc resort. Nizuc means Sunset in Spanish. By 5:30 AM we were at the resort. - The front desk person allocated us the ocean view, but the room will be ready only after 12 noon. We went to the gym and got ready for the morning. - Breakfast buffet. One of the decent buffets. - Waiting for check in.. - Slept for about 4 hours. - Lunch around 2 PM at Sunrise resort. We walked our way this time. - Went to the Sunrise resort lobby section around 4 PM and booked appointment for Monday’s meeting - Went back to the room and had a quick nap - Dinner & then watched the fire show April 10th Monday - Breakfast at 7 AM - Picked up tickets to Isle Mujares tour for Wednesday (Aril 12th). - Booked a cab to the Budget rent a car and picked up volkswagan car that is going to be with us for the rest of the trip. - From here we went to Mercada 28 (Market 28) and went around the shops. Wasn’t too exciting. Exited around 5 PM to check out Beach Palace resort (a sister resort for Moon Palace) and the turquoise waters of Cancun on Kulkalkan blvd. - We went through the streets of Cancun downtown to Kulkalkan Blvd to Beach Palace. Car was checked in to Valet parking and went to the roof top area of beach palace. This is where we got our first glimpse of the turquoise waters. - Went to the beach at beach palace. - Dinner at beach palace. We went back to Moon palace. April 11th Tuesday (Chicken Itza, Ik Kil & Merida) - Breakfast at 7 AM and picked up the food bag (they didn’t give us all the food bags) - Started our drive to Chichen Itza on toll road, about 2 hours and 30 minute drive - Picked up the tickets on the way. Spent about an hour and half at Chichen Itza - Ik Kil: next stop at one of the Cenotes, Ik Kil. It was a good first time experience to see something like this. - Merida: drove to Merida (an hour and half away from Chichen Itza). Parking was easy and then we had food at Burger King. Took idea from a person eating his lunch at the Burger King on what to see in Merida. The person was very helpful. Went to the nearby park in downtown Merida and then went to the museum that has information about the Mayan & Yukatan Peninsula. - Yucatan Peninsula is on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. It has 3 states, Yucatan, Campeche & Quintana Roo. Cancun is in Quintana Roo & Merida is in Yucatan. - At 430 PM we started driving back to Cancun from Merida and realized that we don’t have any more Pesos. We went to a local bank, Banamax and they weren’t able to provide us with the Pesos as we didn’t have the passports with us at that time. Took help from a mall security person that took us to a police officer who gave us the directions to Cancun on local road so that we don’t have to pay the toll. We started our way back on local route, however took a gamble and managed to secure Pesos at a gas station. - Way back to Cancun, stopped at a local town and went to the local church (also used as a school). Spent about an hour in the town and resumed the drive to Cancun. - By 8 PM reached the resort, had dinner and then slept. Tomorrow’s plan is Isle Mujares. April 12th Wednesday (Isle Mujeres – Garfunkal tour) - Isle Mujeres is a small island that is about an hour drive on boat from Cancun. The ferry is from Kulkalkan Blvd, so we have to take a van from our resort and the scheduled pick up is at 8 AM) - We went to have breakfast at 7:45 AM, and by the time the tour van is about to leave. Hurried to the van and managed to hop on in the last minute. - About 40 minute drive to Kulkalkan blvd ferry stop. Took pictures of CANCUN bill board at the ferry stop and then hopped on the ferry. - Breakfast served along with beer. - One of the best waters in the world (the best we have ever experienced till now). - Reached Isle Mujeres by 10:30 AM. - Had a full breakfast in the VIP section. Checked in the bags in the lockers and managed to switch to swimsuits. - We did zipline, snorkeling and went to the pool at the Garaffon park - Had lunch and then we went to see the Mayan ruins on Isle Mujeres. - We spent nice time at the Mayan ruins and then went on another ferry ride to check out the dolphins at Dolhpin Discovery - Dolphins: We had a nice time going in to the ocean to touch the Dolphin. - Done with the trips. Boarded the ferry, return to Cancun around 6:30 PM. The tour van dropped us back at moon palace. - Went back to the room and dinner in the evening. April 13th Thursday (Relax) - Friend’s family arrived - Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. - We rranged for spa treatments, where I had one of the finest massages at 2 PM while my wife had her facial done at 7 PM. - Planned the trip to Tulum for Friday. April 14th Friday (Tulum) - Had very good Tacos and local Mexican food in Tulum. - By the time we came back to Cancun it was almost 9 PM. - We had dinner in Moon Palace and relaxed. April 15th Saturday (Final day) - Friend’s family went to Chichen Itza, while we stayed back at the resort. - Today is our last day here in Cancun. The feeling that we have to head back tomorrow morning.. - Went to Beach Palace and one more small drive on Kulkalkan Blvd. - Went back to room. - We first went to Captain’s Cove across Omni and parked our car. Took some pictures. - Went to Omni and met friend’s family. All of us decided to go out. Bhaskar and Ranjan returned from Chichen Itza and we all greeted each other. - Went to the club zone of Cancun with friend’s family. Parked the cars in the mall and then walked around the club zone. Checked out Coco Bongo from outside - At 9 PM, we said good bye to friend’s family and went back to Moon Palace - Final evening dinner in Moon Palace. April 16th Sunday (Final day) - Woke up at 3 AM in the morning and got ready to Airport. - Flight was at 7 AM to Chicago to Boston. Picked up some breakfast/lunch at Guacamole (food is similar to Chipotle). - Flight departed from Chicago to Boston at 1:40 and we landed in Boston at 4:40. | ||

Cancun is a good place and go for all inclusive resorts.. I visited The Royal Sands & Spa All Inclusive and they had restaurants in the resort and we had restaurants in the royal caribean and another royal hotel covered as part of this package. The main reason you go for is to relax.. They have breakfast,lunch and dinner included in the package and the food was good.. This was close to the downtown and we did got to the downtown to go to an indian restaurant.. We also had a kitchen in the room and it costed me 3500 including the cab,flight and food... There are tours if you are interested in visting some of the cultural places related to Mayan(People sayit has resemblance to Maya who is the architect of the mayasabha in mahabharata) culture .. There are few other water resorts that you can explore around the place.. We also visited few other motels like Riviera Maya and Moon Palace.. I find that Moon palace has indian options too and they have many things attached to the resort.. However if you are looking for pristine beach go more towards downtown and make sure that you have activities for the kids in the resort..
I went to Atlantis Paradise but being a vegetarian i was not as fascinated as cancun.. The restaurants are not good for vegetarians and everything is expensive.. However the waterpark and the beach is good.. They also have a snorkeling in one of the pools where it is visible to the audience from the glass.. | ||

We went during spring break, from houston to cancun plane tix costed 1200 for family of 4. Stay at Sandos 4 nights at the ocean view room was about $2000. We are vegetarians and this resort is an eco-friendly resort and there are plenty of vegetarian options.They even chauffeur you from resort from/to airport. One advantage is resort has beautiful beach and clear water synegas where you snorkel, has few mayan ruins as well. There is walking, hiking, day care for kids. We used day care service to do couple's spa and go to adult only restaurants. Also they have plenty of mayan activities that your kids will enjoy. We didn't do the city tour but took a ferry to the cozumel which is also very beautiful. We also did a day trip to xel-ha resort. | ||

we stayed at nizuc, it was awesome cabos lo pedegral lo unde, so we got good deal if budget is not consideration u can try zoetry also we stayed at both places zoetry is on rivera maya .those who are serious about their watches display them prominently, those who are more concerned with style and branding present you with aircraft carriers and hide their watches. | ||
