I will one last time point to the fact that this incident would possibly have been avoided with guns if someone did their job of putting his name in the database. That mistake needs to be addressed and made sure it never repeats. Also that it is the good Samaritans with guns that stopped it from becoming a bigger massacre. The regulations that you ask for are necessary. But the right to defend onself is also important. | ||

Gun violence is an epidemic. The numbers are growing. CDC wanted to study gun violence but the congress shut them down, thanks to the lobbying by NRA. This crap frustrates me!! We have been begging for common sense gun control but in guise of second amendment , the worst possible lobby of all times happens and many pretend like that doesn't exist. If anything people blaming entire religion from terror shouldn't have much reservation here!!! Do you guys know CDC is not suppposed to research mental illness and gun related deaths?? In 1996, the Republican-majority Congress threatened to strip funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention unless it stopped funding research into firearm injuries and deaths. This guy got his gun from 'Academy' store in San Antonio. All he had to do was sign a statement asserting he doesn't have criminal background. Only 26 states have follow thru before sale(Texas is not one of them) And the president goes on international stage says guns are not problem. Good guy with gun stopped. Seriously!!?! .. after 27 deaths and 20 injuries?? Even if I were to say fine, the man on other side confronted with hunting rifle not semi-automatic.. Other argument I hear is people can buy in black market.. well the rifle used in sandy hook cost less than 1000 in Walmart, where as it is 30k and above in black markets of Australia and Europe( don't have a link but remember from a seminar few years back). Could any one have access to them easily ?? | ||

I am all for gun control. But look at this incident closely. He was dishonorably discharged from Air force. Meaning,he can't or should not be cleared to buy the weaponn he used. Within current laws, this should have been avoided. | ||
