My two cents on this Mantrani ki meaning teliyadam anedi utter useless. Take for example krishna yajurvedam...indulo anta kriya untundi...right from taking out poison to taking ones life all mantras unttayi...vaatiki asalu meaning ee undadu... lets say there is first mantra in rigveda which is like agni meele puro hitam etc....deeni meaning entatntey agni pratyaksha daivam, puroabhivruddhi koru hitudu etc., but this is just eulogy, but whats the use of eulogizing? ee mantram chaala rakaala prayogala lo use chestaaru like someone doing varuna japa to icrease rain and yagna for crop yield etc etc., naga dosham povadaani ki...so ikkada meaning kantey mantra upasana ,danni chadivey padhhati, the way to extract energy out of it and use to satisfy your desires anedi single most important point... vedas and other texts basically provide you the channels to access and manipulate energies and create energy forms (in our language gods), so a guru a person well versed in vedas or who have done advanced yoga sadhana have the ability or know the ways and means to play with energy and create gods and the way to access the energy of these created gods is by doing vrata, doing pradakshina or something according to tradition of the temple... In some agency areas some yogies have craeted some powerful energy forms which can be just accessed by breaking a coconut, because people in those areas cannot just perform heavy rituals etc., ultimate goal of a human is to get control over nature and transcend beyond it, if you cannot do this inanimate planets will decide your destiny and astrology perfectly works in your case which means a decent astrologer can predict when you will get married,children,job etc,etc and that will be perfectly correct.. Once you start getting access to the higher energies(through vedas or prayogas or yantras or yoga) and go beyond your current level you will break your karmic cycle and any great astrologer cant predict what you will be, it is only you who can decide what you want to do... Online lo available And coming to advaitha the ROOT is "Mandookyopanishath". Very succinct, I think only around 12 short verses. Rama has allegedly said if and if only one has to read and understand one thing.. it is mandookya. Sankara's gugguru "guada pada" had explicated it in his 'karika'. upadasesa shasri is like summarisng work on advaita . It is know to have 1000 teachings, related self, self's body. Authentic translation which is available is of swami jagadananda which is most widely accepted. Ikkada difference entatney adi ankaracharya raasina bhashyas on upanishads are source of wisdom. But this is like a complete treatise of all the advaita he proposed.
