Thanks for the link. That was fun.... Kapil was my first sports hero and I cannot think of another knock as big as the 175* (he was freaking NOT OUT!) when you think of the situation the team was in and the volume of runs that Kapil scored. Also, I have no doubt they cannot even come close to replicating this knock. That's the beauty and tragedy of sport. It is (irrespective of all the match-fixing talk in cricket and other sport) un-scripted. Once a sportsman scripts it, the replicas cannot do justice to the original. They might be able to replicate the drama surrounding the knock, however. I am not going to hold my breath on that, however. They really should be doing a documentary on it like they did with West Indian fast bowlers.
I was devastated too with this, but then I saw someone comment when Kapil cried in that Thappar interview that they don't care whether Kapil fixed matches or not, becuase the 175 or 4 sixes to avoid follow on or that superb spell in Melbourne and many such magical things more than make up for any matches where he underperformed or asked others to underperform..... ofcourse few years later Azhar/Cronje my two other faves in the 90s (after Tendulkar) actually were confirmed as match fixers so Kapil's incident got relegated to an even smaller size in my mind.
