Akkada business as usual..the increase in premiums and cuts in coverages are on going. I am assuming majority of us are in this category . The biggest mess is in individual markets and some small business plans(les than 50 employees) That is also in correlation to deductible and coverage parameters. premiums did not raise just because of Obamacare . Premiums were on raise almost since a decade before Obamacare. Few days back I put together a post with some details. They tackled initial days by cutting coverages, providing high deductible plans etc. HSA was introduced for that reason. How many of you paid attention to your deductibles?? Until obamacare , bandaids tho gadiparu. Ocare attempted to fix problems. Now more exposed . Like any law, identify and fix the problems rather than get fixated with the repeal of ACA . As I said before ,Pre-existing conditions are the new third-rail in American politics. Trump needs to learn we are not going back to the pre-Obamacare era when it comes to pre-existing condition coverage and get onboard with mechanisms that ensure coverage for these people is possible (ie, the individual mandate) . | ||

The sad part is that people who got treated under obamacare subsidy plan, are not buying insurance once they got treated and cured. The problem with obama is that he never tried to put on hospitals and doctors on how much they charge for each treatment or visit. he should have balanced it there. One public university hospital charges 5 times more for any treatment than private hospital these days. That is the sad reality. | ||

Don't know it is good or bad that it is gone. but what observed is that before obamacare, one family used to pay $700 with 100% coverage for certain procedures. After obamacare, it became $1000 even after removing 100% coverages in network treatment. Then premium is increasing year over year. now it is $1400 for minimal coverage. out of pocket expense gone up. deductibles gone up. | ||
