That is why i said that you did not understand it.. There are lot of people who buy insurance privately as their employers do not provide it i.e. Carpenters, plumbers and lot of small businesses which is the backbone of the american economy.. When they get sick the insurance company could drop the coverage by not renewing the insurance.. Imagine if somebody paid a insurance for 10 years and once they became sick and have go through the arduous process without insurance.. There are lot of people who had health insurance and had the coverage dropped as soon as they fell sick..You are lucky to have a employee based plan or have not been sick to experience the disastrous situation but the least you can do is show empathy to such people..
