If you observe closely, everything in this universe is an emergent property - a cell, an ecosystem, a computer, a school of fish etc. Consciousness might be one too, but as you said its the only thing in the universe that is subjective - so can't we put it in the non-physical realm? I know the work of Dr. Vaidyanathan, amazing scientist - there is a amazon prime video called "the brain that changes itself" - he describes one experiment he performed on a physically challenged person who loses his left hand in an accident - what he interprets is amazing, if its true. I recommend everyone to watch it, especially parents with autism kids. I think the whole reason for spiritual pursuit is to demystify consciousness, not other wise. Please check your email. I am not debating that at all. My point is that the basic natures of brain and consciousness are totally different. Consciousness is a by-product of brain, but is of totally different in nature. An analogy would be Sun and sun-light in which sun-light is a byproduct of the fusion reactions. However light and fusion both are physical realities. That's not true in case of brain and consciousness. Important question is whether consciousness exists at all in the first place, thats going to be a very long disco - so I am out for now  Don't text and drive ! | ||

physical trauma to our brain affects our consciousness... certain medications and recreational drugs alter our consciousness... states like anger paranoia euphoria can be induced using drugs... how do you explain these physical things (brain injuries, drugs) interacting with non physical consciousness and producing visible behavioral changes ? I can try to explain what i understand. 1) Infinite is something that does not have a limit. its not about being a large number, but a number that is constantly increasing. Example - Pi. the number for Pi is infinite, and as you compute the value of pi keeps propping up numbers without a pattern or repetition in sequence. 2) When we say Universe is infinite - it means it keeps increasing as you try to reach the boundary - that is expanding. I actually would like to use the word stretching rather than expanding. Expansion means there is some "space" into which "space" is expanding, but think of it being a fabric that is stretching constantly, creating new space. 3) what we understand about space or universe is that, the stretch/expansion happens between galaxies. that is bodies with in a galaxy do not get affected by the expanding space, that is they are bound by the gravitational forces or density of the galaxy that is creating the curve around it. all the objects with in that galaxy are affected by the curve of the galaxy rather than the expanding or stretching universe. 4) the galaxies are constantly appear to be moving away, that is the stretch causing them to move away. and the stretch is accelerating, that is, the closer galaxies move away at a slower rate than the galaxies that are farther, supporting the idea of a big bang. there are galaxies that are moving away faster than the speed of light. 5) Lets assume that we are able to travel between galaxies and are attempting to reach the end of the space. there are three possibilities open universe, closed universe and flat universe 6) Open Universe - In this scenario imagine that you are traveling in a straight line - and the line is basically the path laid by computation of Pi - that is as you go on the number and in our case the boundary of space keeps increasing. The Problem is Sadguru Videos are awesome to start with. But the enthu fizzles out as we listen for a more than 6 months - because his videos state issues but not any definite solution (may be purposeful editing) - Some of his videos conflict with each other - Some of the concepts were brilliantly explained unless we attend their sessions (for long time we may know) For me I started focusing all prayers (Any god) to one Uni-Point Sri Dattatreya / Sri Pada Sri Vallabha. started doing it regularly. Not with any spiritual motives , but to calm down my agitated mind. When i stopped all my expectations on others and stopped un-arguments, trying to control my negative thoughts, feels much better. This has improved my way of interacting with kids by displaying more affection and love with physical actions. If you are sincere about this quest, my suggestion is to find a personal guru with whom you will have proper guidance and opportunities to interact face to face. Because you will get a lot of questions during early stages and you need to hear the answers from the guru directly. Changanti and sadguru videos are definitely good, but they are helpful only to an extent. For spiritual pursuit you need to perform sadhana which takes lots of commitment and guidance - listening is only small part of it. yes, every year once for a month or so rarely he conducts .... may be once in a year at one location.... and getting admnission in that session is very hard.... as the admissions will be filled within minutes they are open .... aayana conduct chese IE session ki 1000 mandhi dhaaka vuntaaru all other IE sessions will be by the teachers trained by him .... attendance for that sessions will be between 50 - 100 in general | ||

As part of my quest for the ultimate truth, completed listening to almost all of Chaganti pravachanams in last one year...
