idi pedda joke. 99% of the post-docs continue doing postdoc after postdoc in science field (take out Math/CS, they get jobs very easily in the IT with a min of 120K). only 1% lucky people get jobs in the industry and that too less than 6-figures. | ||

I know some post-docs who worked for 30K also. PostDocs life is miserable, they dedicate their life to Science/R&D and what they get is peanuts and they have to support their family. Most of them don't get industry jobs because of Visa issues and they keep doing post-doc after post-doc continuing their journey. Very few will be lucky to get into Academics (lots of politics). We get 6-figure pay with just one year experience but post-docs never see that kinds of money. We rarely work outside of office hours but for them, any time is research time. | ||

She need to leave the country We had a similar issue in our place. Husband expired due to cancer last year. 1 Kid in college and another kid just got job. Wife has to leave the country in 3 months time. To be frank ee desam lo vaalu vundanichinaa without income very tough to survive will cost fortune for Medical insurance, apartment etc. Did she work before when the husband was on J1 Visa.
