We did BENELUX(Brugges/Brussels/Antwerp/Ghent/Amsterdam/Rotterdam/L ux City/some castle towns), Italy(Rome/Venice), France(Paris/Versailles), Germany(Cologne/Black Forest area), Switzerland(Interlaken/Lucerne) in 4 wks. 15k bokka even with relatives to stay with. Highlight was Paris(really smelly subways and parking lots) and driving around Paris center(nightmare). | ||

He gave this funny little car... man.. being a Tesla owner I am impressed and will buy one for my daughter when time comes. Roads: India lo eppudu drive cheyyaledu... US lo 20 years drive chesi, first time UK lo rental car teesukuna. Driving on other side was challenging for the first day. Thanks to my wife, she was controlling, managing, navigating etc. Down the line, she took over and drove a lot. Overall, maneuvering the vehicle was not a big deal, but the roads are reaaaaaly narrow. Ikkada wide lanes, tumbusku-sized cars nadipi, akkada chinna galli lo nadapali ante konche nervous ga unde. Food: Apparently, there are lot of Indian restaurants run by our neighbors (Bangla, Nepali, Paki) in every remote place. Mana US tho compare cheste... maaru moola gramam lo kooda desi restaurant undhi.. and, the quality is not so bad. We were not particular about eating at indian joint, but when it is available... why not? Further, my wife is vegan and could find lot of places that offer such. Portions are reasonable and prices are decent. US lo $10 for a veg curry and $14 for meat to begin with... one person cannot eat all and have to discard or carry left-overs. Uk lo prices ware cheaper and quantities are less. Andaram thala okati rendu order chesi try chesina, waste ekkuva ledu. Bill kooda reasonable ga undhi, Bottomline, less quantity with lower cost is appreciated compared to US menus. | ||

Let's do some introspection in comparison with US. People are lot nicer than I expected (to be racist). Pros: Everyone is in leisure mood... drinking, eating, smoking all the time. People are more relaxed than what I see in US. It appears that work-life balance is lot better. Even on work day afternoon, there were several people spotted with casual drinking. Cons: smoking needs to be controlled. I see everyone puffing everywhere with no consideration to non-smokers. Mothers sharing table with kids smoking put me off. I am not against smoking, but it needs to be separated from people who don't like. | ||

Sabha ku namaskaramu. Kid ki summer vacation, ekkadikaina povali ani UK decide chesam. First time in UK and it was better then I expected. Flew into London and roamed with hop-on-hop-off like any tourist. Rented a car and drove round England (Stratford, Stonehenge, Bath, Lake District). Covered Snodonia, Conwy in Wales. Drove further up to Scotland.. Edinburge, Glasgow, Glencoe area and the majestic highlands including the Isle of Skye. Flew back from Glasgow to US. Over all UK has lot of scenic and appealing historic places to venture. |
