Lenin:

am getting into the details mate..wait

there is an alternative for Polavaram which will cost 1/4th of today's estimate , which is constructing multiple barrages

it will cost may be around 10000 crores and will take 1/3rd or 1/2 the time of Polavaram completion time frame

Even the calculation of number of inhabitants that are going to be effected by submersion is according to 1990s census data...

and one more disaster is the mineral wealth that's going to be submerged has n't been properly assessed by any govt so far...which includes larger deposits of coal and graphite

We had a very vitrioloc discussion on this couple of years ago where I brought this topic up. Kulla bodichesaru nannu - light le brother

Literally YSR and his subsequent governments suppressed the flood discharge prediction report generated by National Institute of Hydrology

leave alone the rehabilitation and resettlement, the cost itself is not viable to match the benefits portrayed by any of the governments

Infact majority of the lands under Right , Left Main canals are under irrigation by one means or the other...the 7.2 lakh acres ayacut contemplation is keeping the people under sheer ignorance

infact Polavaram will can atmost generate 2lakh acres new ayacut

TDP accepts that YSR govt irrigated 19lac acres in seemandhra,

in 1991, AP debt is 22% of GSDP, in 2004 its 34% of GSDP, in 2014 its 22% of GSDP.

used to support irrigation projects till date...but changed stance rencetly after spending my time with an environmental protestor

google chesi akkadakka koncham chadive sariki YSR nundi current government daka janala ni entha mosam chesthu vacharu annadi kalla ki kattinatlu ardam aindi

I have started hating YSR for his blurred vision on large scale irrigation projects

what a catastrophy Polavaram is going to be , if there are floods like the ones which hit Krishna river back in 2009
