Muslims are at the core of both the issues, but the issue wrt to Kashmir is much bigger. They is a political movement in Kashmir which is using a Muslim rhetoric, but the idea is towards breaking the sovereignty of India. If you remember Khalistan movement, it was funded by Pak not because Punjab is majority Muslim, but to break the nation.
From where I see, this is a fight against the nature of democratic governments, fight against Secular governments. Unless they make these systems, fail, they can never get to a caliphate. Its not just because India is a majority Hindu nation, Islamic caliphate cannot have glorious Democratic and Secular nations survive(whether they are christian majority and Hindu majority). I feel that the fight needs to be in that direction, the fight is to show that Democratic, Secular nations are the way to go, unless there are better ways of society.

If you are seeing Kashmir and other religious nuts who are creating terror in India against non-muslims in the same frame, i feel thats a mistake. Muslims are creating a havoc in countries even when there are no other religions among them.
Who did I mock? I have no right to question why someone can get outraged. Like i said, for some religion might be more important than nationality, and they can outraged because it is against their religion, rather than it is because of their nation.

and Modi for his part, has openly talked about this. Pakistan is on the verge of a breakdown, bu amazing that country is able to survive just because of its strategic position geographically. Image a country surviving without any thing to offer of economic significance. It survived more than a decade of a Russian war, which had nothing to do with Pakistan, and survived another decade because of Al Qaeda - playing the US both ways. Now, although USA is trying ways to get out of it, China started playing a role. Coming to - Breaking up Pakistan, I personally feel China would be more than happy to have that happen. I used to believe that splintered Pakistan would be advantageous to India, but I am not so sure now. It can work NWFP and Baloch has heavy indian influence, but with China at play it will be a much more difficult play. Saying that, I agree an unstable Pak is better for Kashmir - the separatists will have tougher time recruiting youth. | ||

Pak military had much more deliberate control a decade back, now these groups have become autonomous although they still share logistics. at this point, even pak military and government even if pulls out active support, they are in a position carry on self styled attacks. they are getting well financed. After the Lal Masjid's breakdown, the funds are not as centralized as they used to be. the crackdown is much more difficult now. | ||
