public in the trance of BB, socio fantasy, heavy CGI, huge budget will automatically work anukuntunnaru... Not gonna work that way.. Public movie ki connect kaavale.. it should have all the ingredients, not just cgi or budget.. BB marketing naa bhuu baa bhaa .. it had become a house hold name since the first teaser.. it was promoted as a movie which never happened on Indian screen before... Above all it had the content to meet the expectations.. wkkb was marketed to such n extent that even top politicians were dragged in to it.. hype create ayyindi.. this movie will be a super hit ani i said in DB.. initially opening was weak but eventually it became a super hit... naa prediction was based on thing... oka out and out mass movie vacchi chaala days ayyinde at that time... There is a reason why Koratala's movies are BBs... his stories may be routine, his direction may be outdated to some, he may not even be a director to some... but there is an underlying +ve feel in his movies... a message to which we all agree and we all wanna be that character in reality... be it Mahesh doing something for the village or Prabhas fighting for his enemies... u tend to get attracted to the +ve vibe in the movie... the movie becomes a BB when most of the audience get connected to that... U wont see the typical hero characterization of fall and rise which u see in other movies... no suffering, no pain.... hero is very positive and clear on what he wants, always on the top of the game, super powerful and yet down to earth.. this is unique in his movies... he connects that character to a totally different world where people r suffering and looking for a savior... A common moviegoer like me will definitely connect to his style... anduke he has 3 back to back hits... he isnt lucky... he has a unique style... | ||

Koratala is a very very over rated director. It is his pure luck that all his 3 movies turned out to be a blockbuster. But as the saying goes, form is temporary and class is permanent. I am afraid he will face the same fate like Addala Srikanth and Srinu Vytla. He has no strong points to his craft. His dialogues are the worst, just like ETV serials directed by Suman (Antharangalu etc.). He makes his lead characters talk in Telugu and extend the meaning in English. EG : Naaku pogaru..I am arrogant. Naaku nidra vastundhi..I need to take a nap... I just cannot understand how he is considered a leading director. Same with Trivikram...He is an exceptional dialogue writer but horrible to the power of infinity when it comes to screenplay. No continuation, no link to each and every scene. Same with all his movies. I pity audience who made his movies blockbusters like Jalsa, Attharintki Dharedhi, Allu Arjun movie.. Only Athadu 1st half was shot brilliantly when it comes to his directorial abilities. No wonder SSR has no close competitor when it comes to Telugu commercial movies. | ||

There is an unfortunate misconception among the critical elite that 'Subtle' expression is the only real...'natural' acting, which is inspired frm the British school of acting. What ppl tend to forget that Indians are emotional ppl and emotions run high in majority of the households. There is no wonder a lot of us connect to strong emotions on display and masses crave for tht. However, some are desperate to categorize raw emotions as 'Loud' acting...and as if only subtlety is only expected frm a real actors. Where the fact remains, though Mohanlal cud be an exception....That many 'natural' actors are incapable of displaying high pitched emtions. End of the day as long as one does justice to the character and convinces the audience, that is a good enough actor for me. | ||

Tepid and bland, like eating undercooked meat...Koratala deliberately tends to make the situations too subtle when they are crying out for some strong emotions. Mohanlal's character throughout the movie has the same expression whether he is drinking tea or learning about someone's death. Even towards the end when Jr. NTR tells him that he is going to kill his son, that entire scene loses its sheen by the way it is written and shot. You literally want to shake Mohanlal and want him to rise up, angry and shout - give me a gun, vaadni nene champutha.....Srimanthudu lagane bland scenes theeyatam lo Koratala ni kottaleru evvaru. Adhe scene Rajamouli ki isthe, emotion ekkadiko theesukellevadu.. Jr. did very well though - the scene where he ask Samantha to leave him shows his acting brilliance. Bad screenplay - asalu Samantha ki emi avuthadi, ila many threads are left hanging. Music is terrible. |
