.do u need to report and pay tax in US on the ineterst earned

if it is NRO account -- this might actually reduce your tax burden in US..
because you are already taxed at 30% rate on NRO account

if it is NRE account -- you have to report interest earned in India in 1040..

Earned Interest ki 1090-int form istaru end of the year. Adi report cheyyali US lo.
If on any specific day in a tax year, the balance in the account exceeds 10K USD in value, you have to file FBAR. Conversion rate comes from end of year table from eyeaaryes

I 'm an h1 holder and planning to open NRE/NRO account and do fixed deposit for interest rate, Do i need to pay taxes in both US & India?

the interest on NRE account FD is not taxable in India anukonta..but that interest earned in India has to be reported as foreign income in vomerica and you pay taxes

the interest on NRO account FD is taxed at 30% rate in India..but that tax that you paid there..can be deducted from the taxes that you pay in the US here..as Foreign income tax paid..this might reduce your Tax burden in the US
