Save the cord blood and donate it to someone in need if you don't need it. In this case you will be in control of what to do with it. it can definitely help save someone's life. people usually pay around 2500$ for receiving the donor cord blood/marrow. | ||

cord blood cells are not a substitute for embryonic stem cells... they cannot differentiate into any type of cell just the blood cells.... storing for public use is good but dont put too much faith in the statements that it can treat any disorder.... | ||

I agree about marketing and abusing ...but my point is When you save the cord blood...it is healthy and disease free... But when you want to take the stem cells from a living person...that person has to be disease free...so there is a chance that a living person can be a match for a patient but that person may not be a disease free.. So saving cord blood is always goodthing | ||

Just go ahead and save it with out second thought. By paying some amount you can save it in private banks, so that in case any of your family members need it in future ....but you can save it in public bank for FREE but once you save it in public banks you don't have any rights on it, it will be used to any patient on first come first serve basis. Today I am here because of cold blood only, I am living example. I had a cord blood transplant treatment for my blood cancer...the cord blood used for my treatment was from public bank...if that mother of the child didn't save the cold blood....I could have died 5 years back...salute to that mother and child If you want to save it for public use just contact https://bethematch.org/ You need to call them atleat six to 8 weeks before the due date..
