Traveling to US, if you have a connecting flight, for example: first stop in Miami and final destination is Dallas, then your POE is Miami. You must collect your baggage and clear immigration and customs.
Same applies to India. First stop in Delhi connecting to Hyderabad aite, POE and immigration Delhi lo.
Idi confirm. Last week nenu through baggage (iah to hyd) check-in chesina, Delhi lo customs kosam collect cheyinchadu. This is irrespective of the flights.

desi agents sell it of as 1 ticket but sometimes it is not

even if it is one ticket still you have to checkout unless they have partner airlines (not code share like etihad and jet)

Sometimes, if the connecting flight doesn't start until next day, they don't issue boarding passes.
What Andhravodu said is correct for POE and baggage.

Boarding pass as well. Most international airlines issue their own boarding passes at the gate. There is no standard procedure

Vunkl, after you give your bags to the check in clerk ask him/her if they are booked till final destination. Mostly they do.
