In general, I may not even see whats being recorded into my dashcam at least 99% of its footage, it gets overwritten in a loop. But as @Tombrody has mentioned, if there is a situation that I need a proof of what happened infront of my car, it really makes a million dollars value proof. Few items that I remember: 1) Recently in a shopping complex parking, I parked my car and went inside shop for shopping, a lady next to my car scratched my car rear quarter panel and bumper real bad and drove away, I was able to see her number plate in my car video dashcam(I have hard wired it to the car circuit, which gets the power 24x7 and on the top of that, there is a powerful capacitor in the cam as well). I am able to get paid $1400 from her insurance with this. 2) There are at least 2 major and 1 minor accidents by my family member in the past 5 months, a dash cam may be helpful in some situations. 3) Dashcam is fun if a cop is trying to go beyond the law. 4) I want to try it(not to upload the videos into @Rebel's world :-) | ||

At last I've installed dash cam on my car. Its fun, try if you are on the edge. Bought VIOFO A119@ dash cam for $80 on Adorama. Bought Transcend Indurence 32GB SD card for $15 on omeJohn.com installed it easily(hard wired).. all going good. I feel bit safe now. Video quality is good. |
