The announcement made by actor-turned-Telugu Desam Party MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna that he is going to make a film on his father – legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao – has excited everybody. And it has become a big news in the media as well. At the same time, it also raised questions as to whether Balakrishna would touch the controversial aspects of NTR’s life, as he said the film would cover everything in the life of his father. Expectedly, NTR’s widow Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi threatened to move the court if her role is portrayed badly and even senior Congress leader Nadendla Bhaskar Rao also warned against projecting him in bad light. But going by the reports coming from the film industry sources, the biopic on NTR would be made in such a way that it would only glorify the Telugu Desam Party, which has become a major political force in the country. Ostensibly, the film is being made to garner major political advantage to the TDP in the 2019 elections. It will only cash in on the NTR mania still prevalent in the people of Andhra and his Telugu self-respect slogan, so that it would bring votes to the TDP in the elections.
