Small lapse in concentration in the middle of 4th set. That is to be expected, given he is coming off a 6 month lay-off. The way Nishikori started off, it was amazing to see Fed push the 1st set to a breaker and despite losing it, take control of the match....... True..... Also slowing down the courts/conditions means it makes it harder for youngsters to breakthrough as the game is more physical. In one sense, talent gets devalued and the onus is on physicality. Big example Gasquet and Nadal - at 15 yrs of age, Gasquet was the more talented one and most people expected him to achieve big things, but Gasquet never got into the physical condition Nadal got himself into.
