some cases i saw it worked. My cousin had simillar problem when her kids went to school. thier area was 99% white. she made cookies, volunteered for all school activities, aided teachers. she was a regular hit in the class and many kids want to make friends with hers. it doesn't help either, memu vundedhi mixed culture school lo, desis thakkuva, for that matter out of 30 in my daughter's class there are only 2 desis (one us and other a paki) migatha antha white, chinese, iranians and russians.. initially JK time appudu oka thella pori tho full close vunnindhi maa ammayi, they used to have play dates, but SK lo they were in different classes, again 1st grade nunchi same class, first lo baaganey vundedhi aa pilla, tharvatha started struggle, brown skin (even though my daugther is not), nationality meedha kottukotam etc (imagine 1st grades doing that) intlo cheppindhi, we said you have to ignore, or dont play with her, i think my little on had enough, so after school aa pilla valla amma kanipisthey, velli cheppindhata, mee pilla nannu ila antundhi nannu ani aa ammayi parents chaala manchollu, we hesitated to talk, but she did it on behalf of us so aa roju nunchi anni BANDH and they are the bestest friends again  | ||

they do... my guess is other kids might have said something. It happened with my daughter around same age. She was the only non-white in the class. Some times due to lack of diversity look-alike issues vasthayi... it got to the point she was scared of going to school but settled down after she made some friends. definite ga school principal tho matladandi but prepare ayyi vellandi( I blanked out once I got to the teacher ). Since it's is first time try to be very nice and non -accusatory...mostly not harmful!! | ||
