yeah due to modernization of desam, we started to feel more like rest of the developed world. selective breeding is not happening to preserve the traits. We need good research infrastructure to identify the traits for each caste, find the responsible genes and classify them more genetically, then implement selective breeding to preserve variation. There is a lot to learn from dog breeders. | ||

Yeah I agree, I don't know about rest of the world but in desam, we should adapt to selective breeding.. learn some life lessons from dog breeds. very nice write up. The variety in our breeds is essentially physical traits like average height, weight, color, facial features and other features. However our genetic diverity is very low, may be this is because human migration started fairly recent and there were lot of catostrophic events in history that further reduced our genetic diversity. The diversity in african populations is way higher compared to rest of the human population. Like wise the genetic diversity of dog breeds is way higher because of selective breeding for years and years. To conclude we can get a meaningful correlation between caste and DNA if we implement selective breeding for another 500 generations or so and again this is only if there is any existing genetic diversity | ||
