took uber today .. driver 70 year old american .. we started conversing .. he: where are you from in india me: so and so he: i was in india for 4 years working for gates foundation. i love india me: wow.. gates foundation played a major role in making india polio free .. so u must have worked in UP and bihar he: i was stationed in New Delhi and we used to camp in UP,Jharkhand for our work me: wow . so you still work for the foundation ? he: no .. my wife was poisoned in india with pesticides .. we bought her back to usa and her body was full of pesticides .. so got her treated .. me: sorry . how is she now. he: she can barely whisper now but for per past 6 years we managing ok me: sorry to hear that .. me: sad that u did good work and this happenned he: itz ok .. USA govt is now asking us to go work to cambodia for similar work .. we've been to africa also in the past so we are just thinking .. me: at this age, i think you must just be taking it easy .. if you ask me .. he: yes also while in india , local guy embezzled 2 million usd in funds by employees prost****** as contractors in some of our works .. we found something fishy and caught him and handed him over and how he is in jail. me: sorry u had so many bitter experiences but still saying great things about india .. thanks for that .. he: india is full of lovely people .. we stayed at some homes and had meals with the families there .. we are going back this summer to meet some of them .. me: wow .. great sir .. thanks and itz my pleasure meeting you ..
