In fact, most of the balance will be not just with NRIs, but also in countries like Bhutan,Nepal and Bangladesh etc where Indian currency is almost legal tender. To all those saying - more money in the banks and more circulation for loans, don't be fooling, once the gates are opened, people will start holding the cash again...in fact they will hold it even more than earlier. Who will want to run their business or lives on the whims of a whimsical government and RBI. And why should they keep their money in a bank to lend to inefficient projects and borrrowers. | ||
