Ee topic gurinchi think chesinattu...I haven't though about anything else in recent years. They took out 14 lakh crores (85 % of currency) over night and very very few people knew about this (PM, finance minister, RBI governor and some key officials. Replacing that much of currency in 1 day would not have been possbile without high demonination notes like 2000 note. So, i think it was just coming out of that practical limitation. I just listened to Modi's speech. He also said the liquid cash that is going to be in the market from now is going to be much smaller there by forcing more electronic banking. In theory, they can also do a gradual withdrawl of 2000 rupee notes at a later date after this hectic transition is done and people adjust to more electrocnic banking. | ||
