lot of ppl do it. but personally i wouldnt touch my retirement money unless it is life or death situation. ina ee rojullo 401k nduku illu konadaniki 5% downpayment to andaru istunnaru loans with low interet rate. try to go to local credit unions .

small house konatam varaku correct... not a condo/apt though..maintainance is high... buy a Townhouse...kani konatanni matram postpone cheyyaku..

u always need to have assets both in USD and Rupees... right now USD value is gaining in world market..so better have ur assets in USD...elagoo INR lo properties vunnai kadha... so, better start building some asset in USD now...

House is big burden if you cannot afford. Also it comes with lots of responsibility.

Rental is much different owning home. It is luxury. If you have 100+ liquid cash with good job with long term job then go for it.

do not buy if you do not have raw cash and long term job.

no need to buy a big home. but chances are your area prices are according to market demand. very few underpriced areas

unless you're sure you'll stay for a long time, if you want to protect your investment, it's better to buy in areas where demand is higher than supply. Naturally, in those areas, houses are higher priced

Still some lenders will go upto 55%, but punch pade chances vunnayi chivarilo...So it all depends on debt we have right now and income we are earning...

us lo no inflation, savings is maximum 1% so 4% home loan makes sense.

Investment in commercial properties is another topic, 300k 400k investment tho , taking 2 million loan , I don't know if they give , but assuming if they give , is a risk which most desis may not like ..

They have double income , house paid off , if they have more money they will invest in a townhouse or condo and they have 401k for retirement

Risk vs return lo they will take 0% risk even if the return is 0

if you go with desi agent you get 2% back , normally closing costs are covered with that , furniture , it can wait or you can use your old ones if the money is tight ..
Emergency fund is something you always have , not to put into this ..

5% down is also ok, you just pay another insurance PMI ?

if existing house you can get fridge , washer dryer , dishwasher , software etc

45k is good amount to go, also please hev 6 months of full month exp including APR as reserve fund. take life insurance or mortgage insurance
include wife in title. have 10k fund seperate for medical
