This was the email from USCIS office to her DSO ------------------------------------------------- Hi, Julie, Please have the student return the card with a letter explaining the error or a copy of this e-mail, a completed Form I-765 application with box 2 (“Replacement”) checked and supporting documents to verify the correction such as copies of I-20s, a copy of a passport/birth certificate, etc., depending on the nature of the error. * No fee is required if the card issued was incorrect due to a USCIS administrative error. However, if the error was not caused by USCIS, application fees are required. Mail these documents to: California Service Center 24000 Avila Road, 2nd Floor Laguna Niguel, CA 92677 The student should indicate in his/her correspondence that it should be delivered to an officer in the FB1-3 QuEST Section. | ||

initial opt card will always be for 1 year. tou will have to apply for opt stem extension. it used to be for additional 17 months. from may 10th, they changed rules. they would extend for an additional 24 months. but it cones at a price. the old opt extension allowed students to worh thru consultant companies. but the new rule says that there must me an employee-employer relation. there r ways people trying to overcome this. but as of now, this has bexome a major headache for all opt extension seekers. by the way - the initial 12 month opt allows you to woth thru consulting companies and there is no mansatory requirement for employee- employer relationship Jai Andhra!!
