optimize for both Anna oorukoru....if there is a remote possible scenario where your car favours killing you rather than the other party (as this is boptimized best case scenario) who will be ready to sit inside that car??? remember driving is a privelege, as a driver u have no right to kill or damage anyone on roads nor near the roads.... if the car maker makes the algorithm to take the side of the driver...its a wow factor for the buyer...legally n ethically it should be the otherway around... that's why it will be interesting to see how the events will shape up... ofcourse...there will be n number of lawsuits waiting... idhi i-robot lo aa pilla saving scene where a robot has to decide who lives. in what scenario will a car need to make that call? if an accident were to happen, inside or outside both will suffer. with pedestrians, maybe there's some risk but the car will optimize for both. in general though, imagine a world where all are auto pilot cars. each car will be programmed to protect its own and we will see interesting variations. for example, a truck vs a sedan. | ||

The biggest question which needs to be asked to the companies making cars which can run on AUTOPILOT 1) In case of life & death scenario to both the passengers in the car and outsiders(pedestrians, people on side walks, people ahead on road) whose side will the software algorithm incline? towards passengers in the car or people outside the car...????? as a human driver, we tend to incline towards the safety of the people in the car vs people outside the car...but what does this algorithm do??? will it take the side of people inside /out??? remember, driving is a privelege..not a right... if the algorithm takes the side of people inside??? considering the safety of the car owner & people inside...it will appeal to the buyers...but will the algorithm take the side of people outside the car..in which case its a letdown for buyers... what will happen if such a case goes to the court of law??? In my opinion this is the biggest hurdle for cars running on auto pilot to be answered before they become completely available..
