dheeniki answer ledhu anukunta... im not depressed discussing about these.. infact few years back i was at a stage, where i wasnt excited or worried about anything at all.. , but i wasnt really depressed as well. life was just going on. but few things in my life changed this tone of life. |

Hmm, I was not even thinking of food - just that we underestimate and/or do not understand much of life other than humans - goats, birds, plants , viruses  that article showed up on my suggested reading list soon after I read the link in your initial post ..since it was similar I posted it
Ethics / values are very subjective..and they vary not just from person to person but sometimes from one day to another in the same person depending on circumstances as you said...so to each their own ..

anyway - the basis for my thought is how we asses our ethical actions. why do we give more value to human life, and then our pets and domesticated animals. it is how closely they can recognize us emotionally.

Every living being has the ability to ensure survival, by taking paths of least resistance and or more chances of success..have you never see two trees growing next to each other - they don't blindly grow into each other .. They grow in opposite sides - whether that is due to environmental factors like sunlight and air driving growth in one and stunting in another .. Or the ability to change direction like a root does when it hits a rock I thought this was another interesting take ...

i had a strange experience when i was a kid( probbly 10 yrs), it effected me for a while. growing up one summer, visited my grand fathers village, one day a stray goat was lying next to my bed - used to sleep out in the back yard. after enquiring around, no one knew whose goat it was. i started taking care of her... she used to follow me around, and had a strange connection with me.
it was the only goat in our house, while we had other cattle. every summer when i visited she used to follow me around. my grandfather tried to breed her, but it never happend. eventually she died. stopped eating Goat meat for a few years, but then started again. |
