Parama chetha ga undhi cinema - what could have been an interesting movie ends up being a terrible bore. Bad screenplay, illogical scenes, poor characterisation make this move a chore to watch. It starts off well but somehow unknowingly, slowly and gently meanders its way to mediocrity. The poor characterisation is evident by the fact that one does not even know the names of the 3 kids' characters in the movie. The hero does not try to do any bonding with them, until the last few minutes he has antagonistic, arms-length relations with them (and not like his lover's cousins) - as if he was transporting cattle. He does not attempt to talk to the kids and understand who they were. His relations with the kids could have been mined for some nice sentiments, comedy and fun For around 45 mins and the director let go of a great chance. 1 hour after the first half, the heroine is MIA. Again badly handled. Even the scenes that could have been funny and where our TFI directors are quite good like the confusion in the marriage, are not handled well. What happens to Rajanna, Annapurna, Satyam rajesh - those threads are left hanging. Movies like Current Theega, Bhala manchi roju were some of the better ones of late in somewhat of a similar genre. As i have said many times before, the public is very often right. This movie got good reviews on this DB and by some reviewers but the movie did not do well, and for reasons that are quite obvious. |
