Antha ledhu kaani, Mahesh Babu benefited from the change in Andhra society over the past 2 decades to focus on suave characters, elegant fashion sense, classy dialogues, aspirational themes etc to appeal to a larger audience. Just as Krishna appealed to the population at that time which was largely agrarian through his largely farmer and labour worker roles, Mahesh is appealing to an audience which is already either middle to upper middle class and the rest of the audience too who aspires to get there. That apart a movie like Brahmotsavam is hardly different from Bahubali. Both are fantasies essentially. Nobody wears langa-voni, or does pindi rubbatam, karam kottatam, vodiyalu pattatam etc etc at home. It is just fantasy passed as nostalgia. | ||
