Some of the older Batman movies are outright campy. Didnt enjoy Iron Man 3 much. Superman Returns is a sad movie Latest Fantastic 4 is worthless and so was tht Punisher. Saw the movie yesterday and surprised there aren't any threads yet.... Plot Synopsis: Cap and Iron Man go their separate ways on their views to have the UN watchdog monitoring the superheroes' moves. Throw in the Winter Soldier and all hell breaks loose. The grey shade of the Winter Soldier forms the conflict between whats right and wrong between our titular superheroes. The Good: - Emotional depth of the conflict points - Fantastic hand to hand fight choreography - Screen time and presence of each and every character well deserved - Awesome guest entries by Spidey/Black Panther/Ant man The Not so Good: - Daniel's Bruhl's Zemo could hav been even more menacing - Unresolved threads here and there Summary: 'FANTASTIC!!!' is the single word that comes to mind. One of the best movies to come out frm Marvel to date. Should be in their Top2. Russo Bros continue the spy thriller genre of 'The Winter Soldier' format and amp up the already awesome fights in the latest installment. They give the entire story an emotional gravitas which is the best in any Marvel movie to date. One can feel the pain of each of the characters trying to fight their own demons. There is no Good side and the Bad Side here. All are shades of grey. You dont end up rooting for anyone by the end of it but jst appreciate the screen presence. Black Panther had a great entry and you can already sense the potential his character has. Chadwick Bosman was great in emotional scenes and extraordinary in the fights. And trust me when I say this, this is goin to be the best Spidey version ever. His characterization is simply spot on as in Comics and in a rib tickling fun way tht Sony cud never capture. He had the loudest cheers in theatre for his antics and one liners. His interaction with Tony was hilarious. Ant Man was a surprise package havin a great screen time and being a lot of fun. All the others were great as usual. Best part was the screen time each and every character gets. No one feels rushed in/out. But the show belongs to Iron Man, Captain America and The Winter Soldier. For all his Iron Man movies, this is probably Tony Stark's best characterization since the first Iron Man. And wats up with Pepper btw? Daniel Bruhl's Zemo was a compelling villian but the fan boy in me missed the big baddie who can hurt our heroes. One other complaint is the way some aam junta in the movie blame Avengers for losing their families. Tht was a "WTF! R u kiddin me? " kinda moment. Baddies are on a massacre, Heroes save lakhs and aren't able to save hundreds and they still get blamed? Wow! But all in all...despite being a DC fan boy, cant help appreciate the benchmarks Marvel is setting up here, from making Kid friendly Superhero movies to making a great movie, superhero/otherwise. Movie aside Joss Whedon, Russow Bros are the real deal. Rating: 4**** / 5 Unmissable.....Just watch it!!! P.S.: Watched it in Imax and coz its no Imax format, doesnt make a difference if u watch it elsewhere. } |
