Identity politics is as old as civilization and breaking that identity cycle is also as old as civilization. So wouldn’t claim as a new zealot out to break all kind of identities forever in Politics and society. Identity like caste, religion gives cohesion and long term stability to a society and culture but they also weaken it over time. so periodically identities have to be broken for the society to climb the next step on the civilizational ladder. It’s a cycle of alternating stability and flux to gain new abilities, strengths and exposure. Good, bad or ugly hindu society is/was organized on hereditary castes. This is part of Hindu social identity and in the past whether anybody liked it or not, they had to reconcile as there was no choice With the entry of foreigners and with their control over Hindu country things have changed. New ideas came in and those who were at the top of Hindu society were the first to feel very enlightened and liberated following the colonial masters. Those who were at the top controlling the affairs of Hindu society themselves became enthusiastic collaborators of colonial masters. They take pride in their flawless english, modern education,new religion, their european/american connections but also insist on their old privilege of caste over the ignorant down in the Hindu caste hierarchy. What else would explain the contempt of the likes of a beef eating Mani Shankar Aiyar for a chaiwalah Modi. The hindu top in the hierarchy have sold the country multiple times for their convenience, luxury and privilege. A section of privileged Hindus started preaching about nationalism and superiority of Hindu culture to the gullible masses, provoked hindu masses to fight against this religion or that religion on the streets, claiming them as serious potential threat to hindus and country. When they came to power what did these neo-hindu pride champions do? They surrendered to colonial west more than anybody in the past. They ravaged Indian economy and driven Hindu masses to the brink. While their wards/siblings make money and enjoy luxuries with western collaboration or residing in west at the expense of hindu masses, they preach hindu identity politics for masses below What hindu masses need is dignity with a decent life and in the given context it cannot be achieved without complete overhaul at the top, which means a new beginning from the top heirarchy that repeatedly compromised interests of Hindu masses over many centuries For the next thirty years Hindu masses from the bottom should take over the affairs of the country. They should be PMs, Presidents, Governors, CMs,Judges, Ambassadors. Writers, Teachers, Scientists, Gurus should come form them. This churning and flux would homogenize Indian society. During and after this flux whatever is really precious and universal in Hindu culture would survive |
