Sources told ESPN's Marc Stein and I that Kurt Rambis is getting strong consideration for the Knicks' head-coaching vacancy. He's Phil Jackson's preferred candidate. If things continue to progress in that direction, it will be interesting to see if owner James Dolan signs off on the hire. Dolan has shown an interest in big names in the past, and Rambis isn't the kind of "name" he'd normally be interested in. Also, it's worth wondering how a Rambis hire would sit with Carmelo Anthony. Anthony is close with Dolan and, in theory, both would have to sign off on the move.
