But there remains one actor in the Telugu film industry who has been doing the same kind of movies for years, more like decades. I think you know who I am talking about, Nandamuri Balakrishna. The veteran actor is an internet joke already thanks to his movies, but after he made some really demeaning misogynistic comments in a movie function, his reputation has plummeted even further, if that was even possible. So, let’s take this opportunity to see 5 super cheesy Balayya movies… Pandurangadu Dictator teaser: Mr Balakrishna, please stop playing superman in every DAMN film! In this movie, Balayya plays a devotee of Lord Krishna, Pundarika. He follows his god and does everything that Krishna did, including his mischiefs. Yes, that would include rasleelas and seeing Balakrishna being a playboy of sorts. If the idea of watching Balakrishna equating himself to Lord Krishna is not idiotic enough, there is also the fact that he romances many heroines in the film. We really wonder if he makes such movies just so he can romance different heroines and boost his ego. Srimannarayana Srimannarayana Srimannarayana was a movie that tried to make a done to death revenge story into something different by giving it a social issue angle, but failed to do so. In this film, Balayya played a journalist, Sriman but despite being a simple journalist, he somehow manages to kill villains like flies. Also, he walks in and out of jail, where he is held in strict police protection as if it is a restaurant. But then, we must remember that this is a Balakrishna film, so logic has no role to play in it. Adhinayakudu Adhinayakudu So what is worse than watching Balakrishna on screen? Watching him in a triple role! That is what this movie is about. In Adhinayakudu, Balayya plays the father, a son and another son too, who was lost at a very young age. This cliched movie also includes family drama, a paralysed person suddenly cured of his ailments at a crucial point in the movie and all the elements that make it a typical Balakrishna movie. Then the two long lost Balakrishnas reunite, join hands and kill the bad guys who murdered their father, which is again Balakrishna. Like, were they short on cast? They could have put other actors in the movie too. Legend Legend This movie is supposedly a blockbuster, but if you watch it, you will wonder why. It is laughable at best and absolutely boring at worst. There are some really memorable scenes in the movie which will make you facepalm hard. Krishna, played by the actor, is a rowdy who can beat hundreds of goons to a pulp, but only if he has his lucky battle axe. There is seriously a dedicated team of friends in the movie whose only work is to to reach a fight location and hand Krishna his lucky axe, like for real. Also, in another fight scene, Balayya skewers a bunch of rowdies with a single spear, as if they are made of paper. Again, RIP logic. Mitrudu Mitrudu Mitrudu is literally about how a girl tries to woo Aditya played by Balakrishna, who is a depressed loner. That’s all, Balayya plays hard to get and girl chases him through heaven and hell. And that too because some astrologer told her some ideal qualities of her would be husband, which Aditya has of course. We wish it was a parody, but sadly this plot was deadly serious. So that concludes the list, although in truth, it can just go on and on. Many will not agree to what has been written, but this is how the rest of the world sees Balayya and it is high time he does movies and role which suit him more. Or better not work at all |
