Danny Ainge did a good job accumulating assets. Now comes the next challenge...he will have atleast 8 picks (4 firsts and 4 seconds). There will be 1 or 2 roster spots at max...so he will have to quickly consolidate these picks into 1 or 2 players.

Last year he offered 4 first round picks to move from No 16 to No 9 in the lottery to get Winslow. A Brooklyn pick was also part of the offer. Luckily Hornets turned down the offer as they did not know what to do with those picks...they were not prepared with a full draft board. Worast preparation by Airness and team. Celtics naakesevaru if Hornets took that offer.

Exactly my point .. What cavs are doing is right ...They could have waited for wiggins to develop but cannot afford to loose Lebron's golden years .. Same way they are trading everything to make the max of Lebbi , Kyrie and Love ..

Love trade ni nenu emi anatledhu...its an ok trade for Cavs. It would have been a disaster if Love left in free agency. And they did not give up any future assets in that trade (infact they had surplus assets after that point).

Tarvaatha start chesaaru...they traded away 4 future first round picks + lots of second round picks in the process of finding a big man and salary dumping bad contracts signed at the same position.

Knicks gave up every asset they have to land Carmelo...when they could have simply signed him 2 months later without giving up anything. Masai got Nets and Knicks into a bidding war.

Vuncle .. Maa celtics daggara kavalsinani picks unaayi .. Kaani unable to land a superstar from the past 2 yrs ..

Draft lo we tried to move up but could not with the position we are in ...

NFL lo u expect to hit it through Draft ... NBA is driven by getting stars ... One star leads to another .. but getting the first one is important

1) Super stars are rarely avaiable...most GMs never trade a superstar even if the team is going no where because they will fall out of play-offs and it will take years to get back on track. Look at Orlando after trading Dwight, Lakers after losing Dwight, Jazz after trading Deron Williams, Wolves after trading Love. The only superstar trade that worked in the recent past is Masai Ujiri's trade of Carmelo Anthony to Knicks. Denver got 3rd seed in West with all the assets Masai collected in the trade.
2) Howard is the only one available at this deadline...but he will be a free agent in 2 months demanding an absurd contract. If you are the team holding him...he will ask for 5 year max...any outside team can only offer 4 year max. The 5th year will be one of the worst contracts in the league.

I think Celtics will be favorites to land the next superstar that will hit the market. Likely candidates will be a Love and may be even Howard pairing in the summer.

The Suns traded Markieff Morris to the Wizards for a protected 2016 first-round draft pick. It is protected Nos. 1-9.

One last shot to impress Durant.

Responses coming from teams inquiring about Nets players: Nothing happening. Marks wants time to evaluate the roster before making moves.

Spurs almost never paid tax. My point is not about tax...they could have gotten Channing Fyre into the cap exception but were afraid of the big luxury tax...so they sent out to Varejao to reduce the cap.

Also, Varejao ki extension icchinappudu he was under contract for 1 more year...and he was not going anywhere after the deal..antha injury prone player ki 3 year extension iccharu.

Russell Westbrook Wasn’t Supposed To Get Better Than Kevin Durant
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/russell-westbrook-wasnt- supposed-to-get-better-than-kevin-durant/?ex_cid=538twitter

Before last season, Westbrook was firmly ensconced behind Durant as the Thunder’s second banana, a configuration that — if history was any kind of guide — appeared ordained to stay in place as long as both players wore an OKC uniform. But Westbrook blossomed in Durant’s absence last year, and the changes to his game have stuck. He’s upped his offensive efficiency — despite a crushing workload — and he’s even improved to become one of the game’s best defensive point guards this season.

Durant hasn’t gotten appreciably worse; Westbrook has simply gotten that much better. He may not quite be the best player in basketball right now (Steph Curry is off in another dimension), but Westbrook has staked a pretty solid claim to the No. 2 slot, well ahead of even Durant’s form in his MVP season.

That leaves only three other MVPs in NBA history (not including Durant) who were overtaken by an existing teammate as their team’s best player: Tim Duncan, whose 2002-03 MVP campaign eventually gave way to the emergence of Manu Ginobili; 1979-80 MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who would hand LA’s reins to Magic Johnson in 1981-82; and Kobe Bryant, who was (ducking as I type this …) outplayed by Pau Gasol on the 2008-09 and 2009-10 Lakers.

By moving C. Frye to CLE, the Magic can make procedural moves (renouncing cap holds) to have $45 million in cap space for July.

This is going to be the craziest free agency of all time...Lakes will have 60 Million in cap space.

Quite a good pick Houston scored in the Motiejunas deal, but that's Stan Van Gundy. If he likes a player, he's not afraid to pay a price

Stan gets good basketball...but does not have any business sense. Moniejunas will be an unrestricted free agent in 2 months and is not playing any role in Houston. 2nd round pick chaala ekkuva...paying a 1st round pick is crazy. This is as crazy as waiving Josh Smith with 3 years of guaranteed contract.

Saarang:

Biggest chance of improvement will be stealing Griffin for Melo...there is some chance of that in the off-season.

how? why would clips part with him? due to recent incident with him hitting someone?

Thats a small factor. A bigger reason is...both Griffin and Jordan need to be in the pain to be effective. Jordan plays like a superstar whenever Griffin is missing. Clippers climbed to 4th place by going something like 18-4 in the last month without Griffin.

Also Clippers biggest need is a SF with 3pt shooting range. They tried Matt Barnes, Paul Pierce, Lance Stephenson etc without much success. Now their dream is a Durant for Griffin trade. If that does not happen, Doc might be tempted to go for Melo...which is not a great long term move but its Doc.

Biggest chance of improvement will be stealing Griffin for Melo...there is some chance of that in the off-season.

how? why would clips part with him? due to recent incident with him hitting someone?

The Brooklyn Nets have offered the job of general manager to San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Sean Marks, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Accept chestaado ledho doubt anta as Spurs have bigger plans for him. Russian mafia became fans of Spurs system so trying to get GM+Coach from Spurs family.

Ee year inka play-off done but the biggest positive is Porzingis and much better record than last year...I think they will gradually improve along with Porzi.

Biggest chance of improvement will be stealing Griffin for Melo...there is some chance of that in the off-season.

Looks like Memphis is waiving the white flag in yet another brutal western conference.

Miami will send Chris Andersen to Memphis in deal too, sources tell @TheVertical

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojVerticalNBA 7m7 minutes ago
Sources: Miami will send two future second-round picks to Memphis as part of 3-team deal, although one is heavily protected.

Miami continuing salary dumping...may be they will consider Howard now...but still unlikely in my opinion.

Kastam...nobody wants to give him a 35 million per year deal lasting into age 35 ...ippudu thats the biggest headache for Morey and he is looking a bakara....idhi varuku ayite Nets or Vivek laaanti crazy owner evvado bite chesevaadu...ippudu vallu anthe burn chesukuni unnaaru...

My thinking: 10% chance for Heat and 10% for Celtics...if he agrees for staying with them long term with less than max deal

Jackson and Harris are signed long term, with Drummond right behind them. What a job SVG has done building an enviable young core in Detroit

Zach Lowe ‏@ZachLowe_NBA 34m34 minutes ago
Let's just say Harris is one of the more divisive players in the league among front office types. Related note: he's still just 23.

Pistons are acquiring Tobias Harris from Orlando for Brandon Jennings/Ersan Ilyasova.

Good move by Stan Van Gundy.
