going by linguistics, I am totally OK with Telugu or Tamil too as common language.....as all our languages have same/similar alphabets and pretty much same language construction techniques....... but Hindi is widespread and it makes sense as common language anipistundi.....gujarati, punjabi, bengali, marathi, sanskrit and many languages have much commonality with Hindi........ it wud be easy for Hindi to be common language....... | ||
