Kukatpally:Rick Santorum kurrod won last time in Iowa
I thought Trump is a joke, but he turning out to be too strong. Santorum can't be compared with Trump. Political atmosphere is totally out of control. Many americans have turned against immigration. |

Here are my scenarios: if Cruz wins Iowa (current favorite) its going to be a long race for the nomination as will definitely loose New Hampshire. if Trump wins Iowa (currently polling 2nd in a close race) he will be a red hot favorite, because he is doing very well in New Hampshire. if Rubio wins Iowa (looking unlikely at the moment) the nomination is done, as the establishment will completely rally around him. I don't see anyone else winning Iowa or the nomination. Establishment candidate is the only that will have some hope (not a lot) even if they loose both Iowa and New Hampshire. Rubio's path depends on how soon other establishment candidates like Bush, Kasich, Christie leave the race. If one of Cruz or Trump leaves the race early, it will become significantly easy for the other guy. |

Sony:yep, as I was saying all along first primary is the most important be it republican or democrat...they win that they get nomination Obama in 2008 won first primary and it became very hard for clinton to close the gap
There were a lot of examples where the winner of Iowa lost the nomination. 2008 lo winner was Huckabee, 2012 winner was Santorum...both were no were close to the nomication...not even second place candidates. |

Hadoop:please explain andi...curios what obama sir did different
few things come to my mind. 1. He consciously never took a clear position on any issue. This is indicated by number of times he did not vote on issues before contesting for president . He only votes present but did not take yes or no position. This was clearly indication of not carrying baggage for general election. 2. He built a very strong ground organization which included mostly forgotten demographic by politicians, students. While every other campaign has run with management consultant, his campaign relied on people who could talk on streets to general public. 3. The way he raised money is by product of how he built organization. He collected lots of money in small donations even before he got the big money to his corner 4. He did not follow the blue and red state strategy. He went for and build campaign strategy every where 5. He was able to sell hope like nobody could while maintaining outsider to Washington image. There are several more if I think clearly I could list but top of my head this comes in |

Sony:Obama in 2008 won first primary and it became very hard for clinton to close the gap
this is not completely true . Hillary bridged the gap greatly with NH win. That race was very different. What Obama done has not be done so far in us politics. This is different Iowa caucus has sentimental value more than anything. It is a caucus and does not reflect general election. Whoever has the best ground organization wins Iowa but that . Other Obama I don't think any other president in last 30 yrs won iowa |

http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/430154/krauthammers-tak e-iowa-win-and-establishment-endorsement-trump-becomes-inevi table If Donald Trump handily wins Iowa, he’ll likely receive an endorsement from at least one Republican governor, and those two events could set him on a course to become the “inevitable” Republican nominee, Charles Krauthammer said tonight. “If Cruz loses Iowa, Trump wins convincingly, I think all he will need at that point is to have a single current establishment figure, meaning a sitting governor or a sitting senator endorse him,” Krauthammer said on Thursday’s Special Report. “If you get somebody today from the so-called establishment, who endorses him, I think it becomes a flood. At that point the dam breaks and you will get a rush of other establishment figures who will rally around him.” “And that could be the point at which he becomes inevitable as the nominee,” he added. |
