James thammi, thanks for the suggestion, I will not CONVERT my everyday to preferred as you have suggested. Also I have transferred almost all(less 500) available costco card credit limit to everyday card. I am not going to close the costco-amex BY MY OWN. I will let it have a graceful death by Amex itself. I had $50K limit on costco-amex and new everyday card came with its onw $33K limit. Now both combined and resting on everyday card. blue cash everyday ni prefered ki convert chesukovatam waste... Prefered ki $75 annual fee..if you want prefered, apply it as a different card, you will get amex offers on both cards. I dont see any extra amex offers for amex preferred except 6% cashback on supermarkets that too without costco, sams, walmart... If you are using costco-amex for 15 years, you should have good credit line. Transfer that credit line to blue cash everyday before closing that card. | ||

I've been using amex-costco card over 15 years. Now costco is giving divorce to amex, the costco-amex is gonna die at the end of martch 2016. I got around $50K credit limit on that card. To save that credit limit I was thinking of another amex card to open. on last saturday amex gave an offer in email to get $300 if I open blue cash everyday card and spend $2.5K in 3 months. Immediately I have snagged that offer and opened blue cash everyday. Just now paid my auto insurance, registration etc with it(already close to $1500 spent on it. Also moved my credit limit from Amex-costco to amex-blue cash. All good. On the other hand amex also sent the same offer in the paper form in post. I am going to snag that once I am very close in spending $2.5K on my current blue cash card. In future I may covert my blue cash everyday card to blue cash preferred card. | ||

not following amex anymore, there were some changes recently. BA, emirates, Singapore, delta ayithey unnaayi anukuntunna. Check their website to be sure. Ledu, For any Amex card you have that option. Like I said, calender year based, so you can get upto $700 benefit. Saphire is also a good card, main advantage is if you rent cars frequently, that is one of the few cards, that gives Primary Insurance coverage, if you pay with that card. And Chase UR points you can transfer to airlines directly etc. Depends on your own options which card to select. Cancelling card picha light, since its not a card you have been having for years, apply now, and cancel in 1 year, score will reduce max 5 points, that too temporary for 2-3 months anthe. Only problem is if you cancel a very old card, then your Average Age of credit history is impacted. Its a misconception that you will loose Credit score by just cancelling any new card, same like misconception/ignorance you have about Balayya and his movies  . | ||

Gold ki Platinum ki not much benefits, except if you travel a lot, as you can use Plat card in lot of Lounges etc, and there is no Annual fee waived first year too. So not good one for all. Of course the $100 Airlines credit I mentioned, is $200 per Calendar year for this card. But still you have to pay the AF $495 per year. But benefits for travellers are super with this card. And sometime Amex offers 100K points, not 50K like the other PRG card. | ||

This is one of Amex's best product. 50K points are worth more than $500 if you redeem for airlines/Hotels etc. Worst case you can redeem for $500 worth of Gift cards from lot of brands. After 1 year you can just call and cancel the card. So no fees at all. Also there is a $100 refund on Airline incidentals per calendar year, so if you apply now, you can getr back $100 this year, and next year. And then you can cancel the card before you are billed the $195 fees. Due to some bug, they are also issuing $100 credit if you buy any gift card using United Mileage X Plus app on Android/Apple. So finally you will get $700 worth with this card. On top of that whole year you can use any Amex offers that come across.
