perfect tammi, you summed it up well, i wanted to write the same thing. The issue is not 'year datinaka teppa tagaleyadam", its about the rampant abuse companies from all over are following for their gains be it H1, L1 or Green card process. Somebody rightly asked is there really a need for 85000 H1's every year (65k general or 20k for STEM), no there is not, this country has produced good ones and still does every year. Gone as those days of Interns and working through from bottom layer to the top and really getting to know how stuff works. Before people start flaming me , I am not from IT industry but see that all around me with friends etc and its not the case of sour grapes too. If you start abusing a system eventually laws will be made (especially in this country) which will make it very difficult for genuine people too. You need to understand history and why the US consitution is the way it is. We are a product of confused history and so alot of things do not make sense to folks not from here. America was founded on the principles of new world - where everyone is born with some inalienable rights - America follows Right of Soil - while most countries Right of Blood. A person on this soil will have the same rights irrespective of his ancestry - essentially the ancestry of the individual does not matter. Right to Blood is where Ancestry plays a greater role - class systems, caste system - or any ancestry based restrictions are born out of this law. In the beginning days of America - Right to Soil was only applied to folks with European or White Race - while the slaves did not have the same rights. It was later ammended to where no matter who or how an indvidual is born - they have the same rights as anyone else born on this land. Repealing this means, taking away the Core principle of the land of America. Dont get me wrong - I dont care what the people chose - if majoriy think that such a principle is trash, they can ammend the law. but this is the land of the free, a new world that is supposedly better than the rest of the nations. I always maintainted in many discussions in the DB or outside DB, even with folks from this country that the constituion is this way because the founding fathers did not have the burden of history - they did not have to protect anything other than the core principles they felt that are needed for everyone. but later generation americans dont have that luxury, sooner or later they will have to start protecting "culture" which is when these principles become a burden. just have to wait and see - how resilient Americans are with their principles. | ||

Yes. They don't have people with required skills/trained people. There are no awareness/training programs for young grads. Even if its there, they are very expensive. Companies have slowly started recruiting these graduates and training them, which is good. Else IT is full of desis in middle managements and totally spoiling work culture | ||
