The Hindustan Times quotes the MLA's remarks as "Ye toh Raat Bhar ghumne wali”. According to the Speaker, Ram Niwas Goel, the remarks couldn’t be clearly heard but quoted the BJP MLA as saying that Lamba was a woman who “roams in the night,” the phrase usually has a connotation of a woman of loose morals.” According to The Hindu, the Chandni Chowk MLA will remain under suspension till Thursday. He represents east Delhi's Vishwas Nagar assembly constituency. BJP leaders have in recent times found themselves embroiled in some controversy or the other. Just last month, on 22 October, a local BJP leader in Daman was suspended from the party for allegedly assaulting a woman councillor, according to an India Today report.
