I concluded that this book belongs to genre fathered by Goebbels & reading it is waste of time . I hope you would not conclude that reason for this is my skewed way of thinking and any entrenched negative bias towards writers promoting 5th columns narrative about any issue . The basic pretext of this book is comparing Godhra 2002 with Jallianwala Bagh and writer has used all his creativity to establish commonality between Modi & Dyer . In a very deceptive manner writer has tried to establish that investigation of jallianwala bagh was more transparent than the investigation of Godhra . This book is nothing but one more attempt in the line of campaign which has tried to put across Godhra as Pogrom , Genocide by selectively zooming up facts which support their assertion and dimming the facts which negate their assertion . They also use unverified heresy , cultivated perceptions and views of groups having vested interest . Dishonesty of these people is so explicit that they use observations ( during proceedings ) of Institutions supporting their conclusions and use it to create prejudiced public opinion and incite victim groups to think that in India they can't get justice just because they belong to a particular religious group . On the other hand they try to malign same institutions in a very subtle manner when these institutions conclude that allegations have no true basis, interestingly here again goal is same to prejudice opinions and establish victimhood among minority and alienate them from mainstream . To some extent they have achieved this goal as I find many educated Indians parrot and believe the claims these guys make even after the judicial decisions which reject these claims. Recently district court rejected request for rejecting SIT conclusion but they continue claiming that as they would go to HC and then SC hence Modi can't claim to have received clean chit . Although many Indians having passion to safeguard the National narrative from being poisoned by 5th columnist to weaken the nation , have given detailed facts about 2002 Godhra events along with credible references to conclusively prove malaise behind these lies and blatant intellectual dishonesty . I shall again like to give few basic facts in light of which content of this kind of book shall be judged . 1) On the fateful day I was at Kanpur and when news of 68 Karsewaks being burned alive by an Muslim mob spread across the nation , anger on the road could be felt . Curfew / sec 144 was imposed in sensitive areas of almost all large North Indian as well as many west and south Indian towns . If you would go through the news papers of next day you would realize this. In Kanpur at every tea stall , pan shop ,offices and groups of youth it was difficult to find a smiling face , voices demanding revenge could be listened .Large number of police force was deployed still by evening incidents of clashes and firing did take place in Kanpur on the day train was burned and violence in Gujrat had not even started yet . I would also like to mention something which every one who witnessed the sweeping wave of anger in most North Indian towns don't articulate considering it politically incorrect . Along with angry demand for revenge there was a kind of reprehension about Guajarati's that they are very coward and nothing can be expected from them , they have let Hindus down by their docile nature .Hindus shall take things in own hands so that no one in future shall even think of perpetrating such atrocity on majority community . Demography advocating action for revenge in places out side Gujrat ( based on what I observed In Kanpur) was exactly the same group of people who went on rampage in Gujrat . Fear of anticipated violence could be felt all through that night in Kanpur even in areas not under curfew . Next day when news from Gujrat about large scale retaliatory violence by majority started trickling in and by evening it was clear that reaction was disproportionate and in many instances brutality on minority has crossed all limits , mood of anger demanding revenge on Kanpur streets changed to that of sympathy and need for normalcy . Many may scoff about all this and can even give color to my intent for writing this but I have put this to illustrate how big a lie the claim that riots in Gujrat were not because of spontaneous reaction spurting out of anger in the manner 68 Hindus were killed by being burned alive , but riots were planned mayhem by right wing Hindu groups. In fact this is the basis on which leftist try to conclude that Modi was an active participant and use half truths , selective facts to give legitimacy to their predetermined conclusion of declaring him guilty and demand to hang him. Number of Deaths in this riot was around 1150 and in which around 800 were Muslims and 250 Hindus ( as per information given by congress home minister in Loksabha in 2005 ) . Will anyone tell me how this can be called pogrom or genocide . Calling this sad event by these names in itself shows the intent and agenda of people I group as 5th columnist . Also don't forget that incident of Zakia Jaffari was precipitated only after he fired at mob out side his colony and seriously injured 4 person. Most interestingly large section of Gujrati Muslim now accepts that this sad incident was due to madness of the moment which was ignited by a section among Muslims propagating religious supremacy . Peace in Gujrat since last 12 years is not just because of Modi government but also due to the way Gujrati Muslims have snubbed previously dominant fringe element among them which tried to set agenda of religious supremacy and tried to inculcate false confidence among Muslim youth of having superior martial traits while making wrong assumptions about collective reaction of majority due to their seemingly fractured cohesion . | ||
